Back....

We got back on Sunday night. Shew, busy trip but good.

We went to a prayer conference in Greenville, SC. It is such a refreshing place. This is our second time to visit this conference. We went this summer and really enjoyed it.

Yesterday though it was back to the grind. Still doing good on my food. I am drinking my protein shakes regularly and finding new ones I like.

Last night was speed work at the running group. I actually wanted to skip because I was tired, had lots to do last night etc. I went though! I was glad I did once it was over. I then went out for 30 more minutes of cardio with the hubs. It was good, the new time change allows us to do that later so that helps our schedule.

I think tonight I'll do some abs and weights.

Hill Repeats=Not my friend

Oh how I hate thee......

We did hill repeats yesterday. First of all, I just wasn't in a running mood last night. I went and I participated but man was I wishing I was sitting at home watching tv.

So we ran about 1/2 mile to the actual "hill" and then we proceeded to run up and down it. We did the hill 6 times. Some people did it more, I opted for 6.
So as we were running over to the hill, I was so not feeling it. My lungs were burning! Seriously, I hate that feeling. I decided to slow it down and just jog. It was fine, but it took me a few minutes to calm down, then of course the hill repeats began. YUCK! I realize why you do them, but can't I still complain?

Tonight I told the hubs I would go on a long walk with him. It is 70 degrees and B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L here! So after dinner we'll head out and do a nice walk in our neighborhood. I'm hoping for an hour, the weather is perfect!

As for food yesterday, I stayed on target with my food and never wavered. I also drank my 1 gallon of torture! Just kidding, it isn't so bad.
Now that I've given up sweetners I can't use crystal lite to help get it in! Booooo.....

I don't think I've mentioned it, but hubs has lost almost 25 lbs since January....I probably didn't mention because I am slightly jealous!

I am about gone for the day. So looking forward to that sunny afternoon walk!

89 days till this....

I am heading here in about 89 days, but who is counting!?
The husband and I booked it about 2 months ago. I don't know if I ever mentioned it, so here I am. I am so ready now, but in June it'll be nice to get away. I actually have several little mini vacations this year, so the hubs and I decided we would only go for 5 days this year. I'm sad, but 5 is better than none!
So as I mentioned on Friday, I planned on taking off this weekend. I did rest, but I also worked out for 3 hours over the course of the weekend. I needed to do it though. I had taken the week off with tending to my grandmother and then just being worn out.

So today I started a eating clean again and drinking my protein shakes.
Here is my menu for today:
1/2 cup oatmeal, protein shake
6 oz ground turkey patty
6 oz tuna, 1 cup green beans
16 almonds, protein shake
6 oz chicken, brussell sprouts
I am also shooting for 1 gallon of water. I honestly had to google that to see how many ounces that was. 128! I purchased a gallon jug of water from walmart over the weekend. My plan is to fill it up and carry it to work with me-just another visual thing.

I just finished 60 oz of water and it is close to 11:00. I better get crackin!
Tonight we are doing hill repeats at running club....Wow, gonna be tough!

So as you can see operation gotta look decent in a swimsuit is well underway!

What a week I've had

Wow....It all started on Sunday.

We had to admit my grandmother to the hospital on Sunday afternoon, well actually evening. We spent most of Sunday afternoon until 11 pm in the ER.
Then on Monday I took off to be with her in the hospital so she wouldn't have to be alone. My mom was out of town so that meant that me and my siblings plus dad took up the slack for caring for my grandmother.

It went really well actually, but I didn't get much sleep from Sunday until Tuesday. I am wiped out still.

My grandmother was released on Wednesday, and I think she is on the mend. She has 4 doctors appointments next week to help determine what is causing her problem. Hopefully they can help. She is still in tons of pain though.

So, my week has been busy, busy, busy. I spent Monday and Tuesday tending to that, and on Wednesday was church and then yesterday the hubs had a work thing so I had to stick around and wait on him. I can't wait to get off work today and go home and relax. I am so needing it.
Well first I'm heading to Walmart and Kroger for groceries, but hopefully that won't take all that long.

Tomorrow is much of the same. I'm taking the whole week off from exercise. I'm just wiped out. I hear we are looking at cold temps and rain over the weekend so that should help me stay inside. I can't wait to just nap all weekend and catch up!

I'm working on my menu for next week. I am totally going back to some lower carb stuff, more protein shakes, and a regular exercise routine! Look for more details on all of that to come!

Happy weekend!

Weekend Plans

First of all the Wampus Cats Basketball team is in the state championship game...Go Cats!
Traveling to see them play tonight. Go Cats!

This weekend I am just hanging around. I have plans to do things, but nothing huge. Tomorrow I am going shopping with my dad and sister. My sister recently announced she is pregnant. I think she is 12 or 13 weeks. I can't remember exactly. I found out when she was 6 weeks. She announced to everyone else a few weeks ago. Anyhow, tomorrow she wants to hit up the local consignment shop to see if they have any maternity stuff she might want. So I'm going to go with she and my dad. My mom is out of town, this is her yearly "sister" trip that she and her sisters take.
Anyhow, we also plan on lunch with my MeMe (grandmother) and then Saturday night we have a Sunday school get together.

Sunday will be the normal church, choir and dinner with friends.

I was thinking this might be a low key weekend, but I'm not so sure. I have plans tonight, tomorrow and Sunday. Shew.....

Last night was running club. We did 4 miles. It went good. Next week I hear we are doing speed work. I am dreading that, but I know I need it if I plan on getting my 5K time faster.

I am ready for the weekend.........How about you guys?

Keeping track of race bibs

Several years ago when I first started running, I would scrapbook my races. Well, time isn't available now, so I started doing something different.

I found these key rings at Office Depot recently, so I snatched those up. Seeing as I just ran a race, last night when I went to put my latest one away, I decided to get all of them out. Here is the current product:

I have a total of 16 races I've done since March of 2006. Those range from 5K's, 10K's, Marathon Relay's, Half Marathons and one full. I love this idea of keeping track of the races.

I told my husband last night that I really wanted to get my marathon stuff in a shadow box. I hope to do that sometime this spring.

Anyhow, last night we did 3 miles. Sooooo HOT! Wow, amazing how it was freezing a few weeks ago and now it is 70 degrees and HUMID! YUCK! It was an okay run, but man I've been beating my legs up these last few days. Started with weight training on Saturday and then I ran on Sunday and then last night. EEK, they are slightly sore. So shouldn't of worked legs on Saturday morning. I even took it really easy!!!

1:07:35

That was my time for Leg 1-6.2 miles. I wound up doing 9:1 instead of 4:1. So many people and I didn't want to stop and start causing mass confusion, so I altered it slightly. I thought that went fairly well.

Here was our team. Our team time was 4:41:00 I believe.

I ran for the Jackson Graves Foundation. I think Imight do Hogeye next month as well. They were needing more folks to participate. Will see. I'm not making any big decisions on that yet.

Running club went great

I went to the Women Can Run....WOW, lots of gals interested in running. That is just so amazing to me. I love seeing women achieve goals like running a 5k. WOOT, can't wait for race day.

So I joined the advanced group. We ran 3 miles last night. I did it in about 31 min I think. Give or take, I'm not certain. WOW, first time running continuous in a L-O-N-G time. Wow, I'm just so use to 4:1. I did it though and was proud I did. I want to shave off about 3-4 min though. I think with practice I can.
The weather was awesome and just right for a run of that length. I saw Brandi and Shannon.

I think I'm going to like the running. I already knew several in my group so that was good.

This weekend is the LR Marathon and I have Leg 1 of the race. My leg is 6.2 miles. I could of done leg 2, but I did that 2 years ago and so I thought this time I would change it up. It is amazing that last year I was about to run the full. WOW, I so wish I would of trained for it. Kind of sad and mad that I didn't do it. I'm sure I could of found a few in my area to train with. I may just have to see about that for next time.
The race is on Sunday so tomorrow I plan on taking it rather easy. I thought I might do weight training and skip out on leg work.

Is tomorrow really Friday?

WOW, this has been a week!

Sorry I've been MIA. Yesterday I took off to help my sister with HP event. Hewlett Packard just built a new building in our town plus they brought tons of jobs to our area, so they had a HUGE grand opening event. Pretty neat facility. The company I work for didn't design it, but man is it nice.
Anyhow, I helped her on Tuesday evening till late and then from 3:00 am-noon yesterday! Boy am I pooped. I took a long much needed nap yesterday. Man was it good.

Today I'm working and to my surprise I didn't have tons to do when I came in. WOOT, WOOT!
I still can't believe that tomorrow is Friday, wow this week has flown by.

Tonight is the running club.....Not sure how far we are going. Weather is looking better in AR. Temps are reaching the 50's and the sun is shining! LOVIN that.

Women Can Run Begins this week

I'm going to do the Women Can Run, however, I can't go tonight. I have my monthly BUNCO game tonight and it's at my home.

Anyhow, I plan on going and joining up with the advanced class. I want to try and work on speed.
Speaking of, over the weekend I ran a little over 6 on Saturday. I feel like I am slowly getting my speed back, however, I want to be about 11 min mile or less, so I need to push on a little more. I'm hoping that class will help me a little. Of course I also do 4:1, so I must take that into consideration. I am stopping to slow down for 1 min every4.

So I am excited about the running class. I'll be able to go on Thursday when they meet again.

I am also gearing up for the LR Marathon Relay this weekend. I am doing leg 1. I'm actually excited about that. It is the leg that is in downtown LR. I like that one. You run thru downtown. Not that we have much, but it is cool. Plus over bridges. I don't have a fear of those, I actually think they are pretty darn cool. I'm running for the Jackson Graves Foundation. I may have a shirt. Not certain on that though.

Anyhow, I am doing much better with my food. I saw a .2 loss on the scale this morning. I'm hoping for a little more in a few days. I've just been sliding a little on the food. I'm trying to get back in the swing of things though.
