Last day of June!

It is June 30th! Wow, I just can't believe that June is over and July is about to begin.

My weekend was good. I got things accomplished while also taking it easy. It was great!

Yesterday I went to the pool for several hours. Don't worry, I applied sunscreen all day. Only a few places got a little red, but that was because I neglected to apply as well on the back of my legs. Oh well, it is mostly gone tan today, so all is well. I also went and bought a new suit at Target. I love it. I got so many compliments on it. I noticed another person wearing it at the pool and it fit her body totally different than mine. Not that it didn't look good, but just fits people in different ways. I'm thinking of going back to target to see if they have it in another color. I also see it is on sale...I'm going today!

I have also been meaning to post a few pictures of a few things:
One is a picture of my sister and I back in May. She and I served as the master of ceremonies for a local event in our home town. This is my sister and I:
Sorry about the photo being slightly grainy...I had to scan it from a magazine. Also, this shirt I am wearing was given to me by my trainer! Thanks Corinne!

Then I also wanted to post that cute gift I bought for a friend of mine...I just loved it! I am dropping it in the mail today. Here is my menu for today:

S:Carrots/laughing cow cheese wedge
L: Green Beans, spaghetti squash, ham sand.
S:Fiber One Bar
D:Chicken Fajitas, side of black beans
S:Protein Shake

Have a good Monday.

Rainy Saturday....

Sorry I've been MIA the last few days.  I had a really hectic day on Thursday at work and then I took the day off on Friday.

The husband returned around noon on Wednesday.  They were able to get on a early standby flight, so that was good.  We had lunch together and then we both went back to work for a few hours.

It has been raining since I got up this morning.  Actually the rain/thunder/lightning woke me up at 7:30.  That was nice for a Saturday morning.  Oh well, I am over it.

This weekend we were supposed to go out of town, but that got changed.  We decided to stay at home.  Tonight though we are heading to an Arkansas Twisters Game.  They are an arena football league.  Looks like we are heading to a local bar for a few drinks then to the game.
Speaking of drinks, last night i partaked in a few.  The husband and I decided to stay in and do a little drinking.   I think I almost finished off a bottle of wine by myself.  The husband stuck to the extra stout Guinness!  That is just nasty!  I think I was a little tipsy by nights end and I slept like a baby!  I think it did me some good!

I finished my scrapbook.  I am very pleased with the outcome.  It isn't what my 2006 season was, but it is pretty darn close.  I compared the pages and I have way more in 06 than 07, but we just didn't have that good of a season.  I had to do a special page or two or actually 4 on Darren McFadden.  He was our super duper running back.  He is now on to the NFL.  He is going to be a Raider, so I guess the husband and I will be following the Raiders now.  We also decided we would start following the Dallas Cowboys too seeing as another one our running backs went to that team (Felix Jones).  As you can tell the husband and I are big football fans.

Our 2008 AR Razorback season begins in just a few short months.  We bought tickets to every game again this year, so you'll be inundated with photos of games come September.  We'll be joining our friend Brandon for each and every game.  We all three tailgate together.  Brandon is a blog reader so hi Brandon!

I leave for FL two weeks from today.  That is 14 days!  I'm just so giddy about that I can't stand it.  I need this vacation more than anything right now.

Happy Saturday!

So I get a call last night from the husband. The plane that was to arrive in NY showed up very late, so they missed the connecting flight in Chicago. No big deal, they will fly out of Chicago sometime today to arrive back in Arkansas. My complaint is this.....
This was obviously a screw up with the the airport, yet, they haven' t offered anything, except a voucher for a $60.00 room. So, because they made the scew up, we are out money?
The husband and his buddies are having to pay for a room, plus they are all missing another day of work because they couldn't get a plane to arrive on time?

I'm just shocked. According to the husband it was an air traffic problem, not an airline problem, therefore no vouchers for tickets will be provided, no comp rooms, no food allowance, etc.
Seems as if they made the mistake, but we are still paying? So, they gave them a $60.00 voucher...they still have to pay! I'm slightly irritated.

I hate to say it, but people are going to quit flying, the prices are outrageous and the service..well, half the time flights are cancelled, delayed, etc. You just can't rely on them anymore.

Okay, rant over!

He doesn't know when he will arrive today. He will fly stand by on a 8:00 flight and a 1:00 flight as well. Worst case is he will arrive around 5:00 today. Not a big deal. I was working all day anyhow, so I wasn't going to see him until this evening.

Husband Returns Today!

My husband gets home today. I'm so glad. I've been missing him. We've only briefly spoken a few times due to the schedule, touristy stuff they are doing etc. We've talked by text, but that's about all.

Today I have two WW meetings. One is a lead and the other is a weigh. My current one during the day on Tuesday may not be continuing on. I still haven't spoken to WW about it. We only have 1 more week of the 10 week program after today. I guess I need to follow up with them.

Last night I did more scrapbooking while I watched the Bachelorette. Okay, I haven't watched the Bachelor/Bachelorette shows for several years, but I couldn't find anything on TV, so I watched it from 7-8, well, I had to see how it played out, so I watched the second hour too. Who is she going to select? I don't like Jesse and I don't like the guy with the kid. I guess that leaves the attorney guy that plastered his bar exam stuff on his walls? That was rather odd! I did think the guy that she sent home last night just didn't know how to express his feelings. I felt bad for both of them. Seemed like they really had a connection, but yet, they just couldn't' get it right. Sorry I don't know the dudes names...first time watching. I only remembered Jesse because it is basically my own name....So, I'll tune in next week and see what happens. I guess I got hooked into watching it.

I am also watching America's Got Talent. It is on tonight. I had to DVR it last week and I'll probably do the same tonight. People are nuts thinking they have talent! I guess what it boils down to is they just want on National TV. Oh, and weird side note, I had a dream about David Hasselhoff the other night.

While watching Bachelorette, I got more of my scrapbook accomplished. It is almost finished....I didn't think I was ever going to be able to say that...

I'm looking forward to my long weekend...taking Friday off! Woohoo! I'm so excited. This weekend we are going to North West Arkansas to visit some friends that had a baby last month. I got the most adorable blanket for him. It set me back a few, but I think it was worth it. It is a red/white gingham blanket with a Arkansas Razorback embroidered in it and then I also had them put his name on it. Too adorable!
I'll try and snap a photo of it to share...I think it turned out great. The husband will like it too, except the price I paid...oops!

Back to the Grind!

So I'm back! I was actually back on Friday around noon, but I spent the entire day trying to return my office back to normal and clean things up. My event went good. I wasn't in tears, so that helped.

This weekend was another productive one for me. With the husband in NY, I had time to do some much needed scrapbooking and did I ever. I got so many things accomplished. My scrapbook room is a disaster, but I almost have the 2007 season accomplished. I lack one more game! Plus some other side stuff. My goal is to have it finished before my Destin Trip (19 Days). I will have it done, trust me. In fact, my goal tonight is to finish up more before the husband returns. He'll be back tomorrow night late.

He is having a blast in NY. They have been sight seeing and such. Yesterday they went to a Yankees game and then today they are going to a Mets game. He seems to be having fun on the guys trip. I'm ready for him to come home though. I miss him!

Besides scrapbooking my little heart out, that was pretty much my weekend. This week is a 4 day week for me. I'm taking off on Friday. I figure I'll go to the pool or something. The husband will be back at work, so it will just be another day to myself. Speaking of pool, I went yesterday for a few hours. I'm trying to work on my tan before FL. I got a little burnt. I was using my sunscreen, but I guess I didn't apply as often as I needed too. Oh well, it isn't uncomfortable, just a little red.

I need to jet...we have a small reception this afternoon and I need to run to the store to buy a few items!

I'll be MIA for the next few days....

Off to a work function! Wish me luck. Last work function I was in tears after it was over! Lets hope for the best on this one.

Weekend Wrap up!

Yesterday I didn't have much time for an official post, so here is my weekend wrap up.

The good:
  • Made $75.00 at the garage sale and got rid of my junk.
  • Helped my dad with a catering job and made $160.00.
  • My Destin fund money is now at a whopping $1,000.00.

The bad:

  • I didn't eat all that good. I was running around all weekend and I was eating when I could. Often times it wasn't the best options either
  • I didn't get any formal exercise, however I did burn some cals lifting heavy things and staying on my feet all day

Fathers Day was good. My dad seemed to enjoy his special day. We did a potluck at my parents house. I have 4 siblings, so we all brought a side dish and my mom fried some chicken. I only had one bite of the chicken. I stuck to a huge side of turnip greens, a side of baked beans, corn, and a broccoli salad. I didn't do too shabby. My dad does the NO/LOW Carb diet. He has lost almost 100 lbs. He looks awesome, so we didn't do dessert. He has kept his weight off now for a while.
This is crazy sounding, but we bought him a pedicure.

This weekend the husband is going to New York with some friends. They are going to see the Mets play the Mariners and the Yankees play the Reds. They are doing the guy trip this weekend. They wanted to see both stadiums before they are no longer. So, I'm going solo this weekend. Not sure what all I'll have planned. Probably lots of rest. This week is huge for me at work.

I probably won't be around for a few days. I leave for Hot Springs, AR for a conference for work. Then Thursday night we will do our yearly client fish fry. Then I'll be home on Friday. Then the husband leaves early Saturday morning. Lots on the agenda.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and a nice Monday.

Bridge Party

Remember the 45th Anniversary Party we had for my company. Sorry I'm just now getting some of the pictures posted. I hope they turn out okay. This is an old railroad bridge that they converted to a pedestrian bridge connecting two cities. This is over the Arkansas River.

Friday the 13th....

Today is Friday the 13th....

Both my dad and brother were born on a Friday, both on the 13th. One in August and one is March. Just thought I'd share.

This weekend I'm having a garage sale. I hope the rain holds off. We are expecting some tomorrow. It will just make things so much easier.

Last night I spent all evening running around getting everything organized and delivered to my mom's house. We are having it at her house.

This weekend I'm also working another catering job. More money for my Destin trip. I've saved almost $800.00 on various projects for the last few months, so I'm just going to donate my garage sale money and my catering money to the fund.

Destin if officially 29 days! Woohoo! 1 month from tomorrow the husband, my sister, her husband and my nephew will set out for the beautiful beaches of FL. I'm just so excited.

Ok, I have a project due on Monday and so I came in early to get it accomplished. I want out of here by noon today! I love early Fridays!

Happy Weekend and be careful!

Black Widow.....Bwahahahahaha

Black Widow is no longer.........

Last night after I got home from my haircut/highlite, the husband and I hit the yard for more yard work. I hate yard work. It sucks! Anyhow, after we were finished, we went over to check on our Black Widow. See if we could see anything. So, the husband turns over a rock in our flowerbed and guess what? She was hiding in a hole inside the rock! So the husband just SMUSHED it. I'm sorry, but it was poisonous and I wasn't about to let that thing bite me. We also found several sacks of her babies, so we killed those. I hate to sound so morbid, but I didn't want those anywhere near my house.

Yesterday was a crazy busy day for me. Projects on top of projects are due. I have a huge event 1 week from today, etc, etc. I'm just trying to stay ahead of the game at this point.

Gas prices here are close to $4.00 a gallon. YIKES! We commute 45 min one way, so that has put a bite in our gas budget. We figure we are spending between $350-$400 a month on gas alone. HELLO! I know I sure could use that money on other things.

So last night was highlite/cut for me. It looks cute. Same cut, same color as before. Nothing new. I like my gal, she does a really good job.

Last night I got in a 45 min power walk after yard work. It was so humid, I was soaked when we finished.

I have another huge weekend looming....Garage Sale on Saturday for one thing. I really need to sale some of my junk. Hopefully someone sees my junk as treasure and will pick it up. We can only hope.

I better get going. I need to start my work for the day!

Productive Monday....

Last night was a productive evening for me. For those of you that don't know, I enjoy scrapbooking on the side. I don't often have the time to do it, but I do love putting books together.

During the 2006 Arkansas Razorback Football Season, I started scrapbooking each game. Well, that turned into a yearly thing, because the book turned out awesome. So, the 2007 season book isn't finished and the 2008 season will begin in just a few short months.
I'm not even half way yet. So, last night I got 2 pages done. I was really excited about it. The game I was scrapbooking was AR vs. Auburn. That same weekend I ran a 10K with Dawn, so I scrapbooked the race and also the game. I just need to finish up the tailgating section and then the final score page. At least that game is almost finished....only 8 or so more to go.

This is Dawn and I at our 10K race back in October.

Here we are all cleaned up afterward. We were on our way to the game. We lost by the way!

Okay, so a walk down memory lane for a minute..sorry! Back to my post!

Last night I began a new routine. It will be ST 2-3 days a week and then my sprint tri training stuff. Basically it will be just a variation of cardio along with the ST.
It was raining last night, so I wasn't able to exercise outside, so I did a ST routine inside. It was a LEG routine.

My food is doing okay. It is much better than it has been.

Tonight is my nephews 8 year old birthday party. I have a WW meeting tonight too, so it will be running from one function to another. We bought him a St. Louis Cardinals hat. He is a huge fan and so is the husband. Lots of times the nephew will come over and watch the games with us. I'll try and post a picture from the party tomorrow.

I have tons of projects looming....gotta jet!

Fast and Furious Wrap up!

Yesterday was the end of the Fast and Furious challenge that I was participating in. I don't have pictures and I don't have measurements yet.
I'll get those soon, but I wanted to report in my accomplishments during this challenge:

1. I lost about 2lbs on this journey. Sure, that wasn't much, and I didn't make my being in the 140's goal, but I did accomplish other things so I'm not sweating it.

2. I am not measuring right now. I am so bloated and I know it won't give me the results I accomplished. I know I dropped inches because I'm now wearing a SIZE 4!

3. During the challenge I tried HIIT for the first time. I think it really does drop the fat, therefore it will probably always be a staple in my routine.

4. My arms are looking HOT!. I made it a challenge to do some ab work and push ups on top of the workouts each day. I did 50 pushups and 100 various ab stuff at least 4 days a week, sometimes 5. My abs are looking better and my arms have really shown some definition that I didn't have before.

5. During this challenge I ran another 1/2 marathon, beating my best time. We ran the 1/2 in 2:12:00. My best time was 2:20 I believe, so I shaved off about 8 minutes.

6. Last, but certainly not least, my hubby has been inspired by my achievements. (It only took a year, but he finally jumped on the PNP bandwagon). My husband is doing so good. This will begin his 4th week on workouts, protein shakes, and HIIT. Remember I told you that he didn't care for HIIT, well, that changed. He is doing about 3-4 HIIT routines a week, on top of 2-3 days lifting, and also 2 days of full court basketball at 1-2 hours each. You guys, I am so impressed with his work. We haven't measured, or taken any updated photos yet. We want to give it a full 4 weeks before doing so, but I can already tell he is made great improvements. His stomach looks leaner, his abs are starting to show some and his arms are getting ripped! In fact, he has made several comments this week, that he really wants to get RIPPED! I am just so excited for him.

So, overall, another challenge has come and gone. I finished all the workouts. (Julie and I did the last one last night). I'm very pleased with my results and I feel good about my accomplishments.

What is next for me: I am thinking about doing the upper/lower repeater and starting the training for a sprint tri.

Yes.....It's finally Friday!

Happy Friday!

Woohoo it is the weekend, well almost! I live for the weekends!

This weekend my plans include getting ready for a garage sale next weekend, going to my nephews baseball tournament and helping with a catering job. It will be busy, but at least I'm at home this weekend.

Update on spiders....The husband went out last to try and search for momma...he found babies! So of course he killed them! Crap, you know the momma is pissed now! Sleep wasn't so hot last night. I kept dreaming about that giant spider all night long. Yikes, it still gives me the creeps.
The husband keeps telling me not to worry about them, but it still freaks me out. I knew a women once that was bitten by one. She was in the hospital for weeks. They thought she might not make it at one point. YIKES! Scary thought!

This weekend I'm going to start buying things for our summer vacation. Things like stocking up on sunscreen, beach towels, etc. I'm trying to do it one step at a time, so I don't go blow $200.00 right before our trip.

This morning I got some of my race photos ordered. I bought 4. Yikes, I know, but as I told the husband, these races meant something for me...accomplishment. I bought 2 from my hogeye half and 2 from the Nashville Half. I kept getting emails saying that the deadline for ordering photos was nearing, so I sucked it up and got them ordered. I will be glad I did.

The last few months have been crazy for me, so I had to DVR all my favorite shows and watch them when time allows. I finally finished Lost, Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives, but now I'm trying to finish up Greys Anatomy. I am on the season finale. I hope to finish it this weekend. I gotta see what happens. After this, I'll be all caught up.
I've also decided I want to go back and start renting Sex in the City. The husband won't want to watch it, but I think I do. My sister went and saw the movie and said it was good. I've seen others say the same thing, so I'm thinking about starting it. The husband refers to my shows as SMUT, but I don't care.

Well, I better get to work. I came in at 6:30 today so I can leave at noon. I'm trying to work a little extra so I won't have to take many vacation hours for yesterday.

Have a great weekend.....

Black Widow.....

Last night the husband and I were working in the yard. Remember a few months ago I told you that we had put out some new mulch, planted a few petunias, etc. Well, DH was mowing when he ran across a black widow spider in our flower bed. HELLO! I work in that flower bed. Needless to say it freaked me out a little. We tried to kill it, but DH couldn't ever get close enough to it. It was sort of trapped in between 2 rocks and they were rather large. It was impossible. We kept poking at it, hoping it would show its face so we could set our minds at ease. No such luck!

Last night I did a circuit training program. It is the last one in this challenge. I think I've dropped a few inches since working in this challenge, and I've lost about 2-3 lbs, so I'm pleased with that. My arms are looking more defined, so I find that to be a reward in itself. Of course all my pushups are probably helping with that. The circuit training from last night was mostly a leg routine and I'm feeling tight today. Plus my tooshy is sore.

Today we are having a going away party for an employee that is moving to one of our other offices. He was a partner in our office and is transferring to be the President in another. He is my age...HELLO! President of a company at 30. Pretty amazing isn't it. The good thing is he and I got a long fairly well. He is moving to North West AR. The place my Dh and long to live. If I could get to NWAR with the company I'm with now, I would do it. Maybe just a fresh scenery, new people, etc. would help.
Of course, my husband is the bread winner, so I've got to locate him a job first. However, I may put out a few feelers to the guy leaving just so he knows I may be interested if and when the time may come.

New Attitude!

Good Morning! I am back! New attitude and all. I decided I was making myself miserable by drowning myself in my sorrows. I'm the only one that can change my rut, so as of today I'm making some changes.

First of all, if I dislike my current job so much, then it is time to begin seriously looking again.

Second, it is time for the husband and I to make some long term decisions regarding our home and life in general, therefore I'm taking the steps to move forward with those. Several months ago we made a pros/cons list regarding the city we live in. We opted to stay put. We both long to live in the northern part of the state, and really want to move forward with that goal. I'm going to begin the process of 'looking' again. I look often, but so far the right job hasn't come around.

Third, I feel like I'm in a rut with diet and exercise. I hate it that I have to constantly watch what I consume and the fact that I have to exercise 5 times a week. My routine is changing after this week. My latest challenge is over and I'm moving into a new form of a routine. Possible Sprint Tri Training.

Fourth, my food is so-so, but I'm shaking it up. I am going to try something my trainer recommended to another gal. It is taking 3-4 weeks of really good eating with one controlled splurge per week. Then on the 5th week, I'll indulge in 2-3 splurges that week. Then it is back to a tight controlled program for 3-4 weeks. All the while I'm still busting my rump exercising though. We'll see if this works for me.

I'm basically in maintenance mode anyhow, so it isn't like I'm still trying to lose anything. Of course, I'm not saying I don't want to drop a few lbs, but it isn't a huge priority for me. 150 lb size 4 is perfect enough for me.

I'll keep you posted. I'm not officially beginning until next week.
I'm glad today is hump day. I'm looking forward to a weekend at home.

Not feeling very inspirational...

I still have the burnt out blah's. I know that once my vacation comes and goes, that it will only be a temporary fix. I'm in serious need of a drastic change. Whether that be a move, new job, something! Anything!

Today on MSN I saw a post about 3 weeks to a flat belly. I printed it off. I'm a sucker for things like this. It was something that Denise Austin put together. If I can have a flatter belly in 3 weeks I'm willing to give it a shot. I hate doing abs though...It is my biggest problem area and yet I hate working it.

I will say that for the last month, I've still been doing my pushups and abs at night. I just know I need more ab attention than 100 crunches a night. I'll see what Denise Austin has to say and report in tomorrow. I've done an ab section over at PNP before. It worked, but I just hate doing abs....

I got my Arbonne yesterday. I love it! I got the RE9 skin care line. It is basically the facial wash, toner, day cream, eye cream and night cream. Now that I'm 30, I need to start working on wrinkles. I'm also trying to slowly by the makeup. It will take me a few months, but I love it so far. I've also thought about maybe selling it, actually they refer to it as "Building a Business". My problem is time. In a month or so, I'm going to visit with the gal that hosted my party. I'll then decide if it is something for me.

Incredible Nights Sleep...

Do you ever have some of the best sleep ever? Well, this weekend I didn't sleep all that well. We were out of town, sleeping in a condo, different bed, weird pillows, etc.
I just couldn't sleep all that well. So yesterday afternoon while catching up on some of my DVR'd shows, I fell asleep for an hour. I figured last night I would have a hard time falling asleep. Sometimes if I nap during the day, I can't go to bed at night. So I laid down about 9:30 and I never woke up. Not once. This is odd for me, because normally I have to pee twice in the night. Not last night. When my alarm sounded at 5:30 I was in such a deep sleep. I just with I could've enjoyed that deep sleep a little longer.

So this weekend we went to Branson, MO. We went to a new show at the Sight and Sound Theatre. It was called Noah. It was really good. I'm not a huge show lover...but this was good. They had live animals and a giant Ark built around the audience. It was by far the most elaborate set I've ever seen.
We also shopped a little, but I didn't buy anything. I'm trying to save all my money for Destin, because they have good outlets also.

I didn't do so great with my eating this weekend. I come from a family that LIVES TO EAT, instead of EATS TO LIVE. We ate breakfast, giant lunch, and a nice dinner. I over did it, but I jumped back into it yesterday. I need to drink gallons of water to flush out the sodium and rich stuff I consumed, so that is my plan today. I also worked out yesterday so that helped me too.

This is my last week of the Fast and Furious challenge. I have lost a little weight and I'm hoping to see a few drops in inches. My arms are looking good, so I know I'm seeing results. Plus the workouts have been intense and I've really kept up well by not missing any of them. I don't know if my team will win, but I know we've all tried to stay on the program and the workouts.

I have a crazy busy work week. I have two more parties to plan and get invitations out for. Then our yearly summer Fish Fry is in 2 weeks, so I need finalize those plans. Not too mention our yearly summer employee party and also several proposals I need to submit on.

My blog time has been limited here recently. I have so much catching up to do. I hope I have a little extra time today to visit some of your blogs......

Happy Monday!
