Happy New Years Eve....

Wooo Pig Sooie! GO HOGS! Arkansas beat #4 ranked Oklahoma last night in basketball. WOW, what a game! We watched on TV, but man did I wish I could of been in that arena!
Happy New Year to everyone! Wow, 2009 is just a few short hours away. Wow, this year has flown by! I am so ready for 09' though! I have lots planned this year.

I'll hit up on those in a few days, but to 2008, you were awesome!

I hope everyone has a Happy New Year and stay safe!

Smokey and the Bandit...

I know, crazy post.

Did you know that back a few months ago that Jerry Reed died. You know "Snowman" from the movie Smokey and the Bandit. Anyhow, my husband got word of this back in September so we decided to download the "East Bound and Down" song. We've listened to it every now and then, because honestly, it's a funny song. We drove at lot going East this past fall with football so it became our "theme" song. Plus Brandon is from Texarkana, so it just fit!
During the course of all this, I told the husband I had never really seen the movie before. We joked about renting it, we even looked on the TV guide to see if it was playing, etc. On Saturday, the husband ran into Target and found it on sale so he picked it up.

Last night we watched the movie. It's a cheesy movie, but well worth the entertainment. Especially Sally Field and Burt Reynolds. They're sort of lame in a few parts! :)

So, check it out.....You'll at least get a good laugh.

Last night I did 3 miles to sort of get back into the swing of things. I'm going to try and join the running group tonight for a 4 miler. If not, I'll do it on my own.

Craving the good stuff...

My body is totally craving the good stuff right now. I have eaten junk until literally I can eat junk no more.
I have thrown away all the junk in my house. Tonight I'll hit up WalMart for some good food to last us this week. On New Years we plan on going out and on New Years Day we'll do something also, but other than that, my food will be clean and healthy.

I also need to get back to my regularly scheduled exercise plan. I was a huge slacker last week. I was just so busy with Christmas stuff that I neglected to do anything. Not this week. Tonight I'm running. In fact, for punishment, I'm running at least 6 miles. My body needs it!

My running plan is to do 3,3,6,16. I am shooting for 6 tonight and then I'll so a few short runs before Saturday. That will be our 16 mile run.

I am so ready to get back on track and start eating healthy again. Seriously, my body is past the point of ready.

Christmas Wrap Up...

Christmas was nice! It was a marathon of a day though. From about 8-6 we went non stop. I'm at work today, so I'm trying to recover. Yesterday I think I got a small bug. Something I ate didn't agree with me. I was at home last night sick. I stayed on the couch all night with some stomach thing. I'm better today, but still not 100%. I ate some shrimp and grits that my sister made and honestly, I think it was WAY to rich for this body.

I thought I would basically just share pictures from yesterday! First though, here is a picture of my nephews!

Garrett, Cain, Talon and Lando.

My mom drew my nephew Talon for Christmas. She bought him a puppy. He was so surprised!

Here I am sportin the no makeup look. Heck it was Christmas Morning. My sister Janna had me. She bought me this cute little pig bowl. I loved it. Her husband also made me a cutting board. Very cool.

Me being silly with my new cutting board!

The husband got a subscription to a bird magazine. He loves birds! He was just smitten with his gift. My sister Jenn had him.

This is my brother Joe...He got Razorback stuff...GO HOGS!

This is my sister Janna. She got a purse and a cute bracelet.

This is my SIL Carrie...She got a gift card for her trip to New York and also a cutting board. Same BIL made her one also.

This was my sister Jill and she got some ornaments she wanted.

My BIL Kenny also got Hog Stuff...GO HOGS!

My dad got a gift certificate and some of his favorite low carb chocolate.

My mom got a cubs bag (she is a huge fan) and also a book of homemade cards, bookmarks, tags, etc. that my sister made. It was an AWESOME gift...my mom scored big.

This is Jen...she is a big stamper and she got tons of stamps with scriptures on them. She loved it.

My BIL Jeremy received money to buy something he was wanting and also that giant mug. Sort of an inside joke.

My BIL Glen...you can't see him, but he loves to cook so my dad bought him this giant cooking pot.

The husband and I drew two of Janna's step kids, but they couldn't make it to the Christmas gift opening, so they will get our presents in a few days. We got them gift cards, shirts, candy, etc.

Okay,I think I got everyone but the kids. They got various gift from people...Transformers, DVD's, pajamas, clothes, Razorback tshirts (from me and the husband), bow and arrows, and just fun stuff.

My parents remember bought us a cow for Christmas, so I have 50 lbs of meat in my freezer for use all year. I also received a few small trinklets such as new pajamas. My parents bought me silk pajamas and all my sisters cotton. I asked why and her comment was we still have hope. That was her stab at me not having any kids yet. :) Ha!
The husband received a new atlas and I got some sushi dishes and cookbook. Who knows if I can cook with them, but the dishes I received were adorable!

My inlaws got us giftcards and money.

I think we were all set this Christmas!

Now some pictures of the feast!

My mom and BIL. He was cutting the tenderloins from the cow.

Lastly, the Shrimp and Grits! It was so good but so rich!

I hope everyone else had a wonderful Christmas!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!

This quote was shared with me this Christmas and I wanted to share it with all of my blog friends.

"Beloved, there are a thousand things in this world, that are called by names that do not belong to them; but I must announce that Christ is called Wonderful, because He is so. They that know Him best will say that the word does not over strain His merits, but rather falls infinitely short of His glorious deserving. His name is called Wonderful...it shall be called so. It shall be; it is at this time called Wonderful by all His believing people, and it shall be. As long as the moon endures, there shall be found men, and angels, and glorified spirits, who shall always call Him by His right name. "His name shall be called Wonderful."

-Charles Hadden Sprugeon

Have a wonderful Christmas! Happy Birthday Jesus!

Merry Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas Eve!

I love this time of year! I am so blessed. I love this time of year to reflect on the true meaning of what Christmas means. I just love the wonderful Christmas story of Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus. The fact the Jesus died for me so that I may have life. I really hope that tomorrow I can reflect on what Christmas is truly all about. Presents, Family, Food...all of that is just part of the season, the true meaning is something wonderful that I hope I never take lightly.

Tonight we head to the inlaws for Christmas. We do our traditional Lasagna dinner. I'm sure it will be loaded with garlic butter bread, desserts, etc. It will be good I'm sure. The MIL really is a great cook.

Tomorrow we start with breakfast at my moms. No small breakfast either. She'll do the lumberjack breakfast with eggs, homemade biscuits, bacon, sausage, gravy, etc. It will be wonderful, it always is. We will then open presents. I come from a large family remember, so we exchange persons. We basically drew in August and we buy for those people. I have two children this year. It is my sisters step children who won't be able to attend, so I won't get to see them open the gifts we gave. I'm okay with that. I hope they like them. Then afterwards we will cook and clean up for our next feast. At 2:00 we will indulge in beef tenderloin, shrimp and grits, homemade rolls, salads galore, and desserts that will go on for miles. My parents do it up right when it comes to celebrations.

Then tomorrow night, I'm heading out for a run! I'll need to work off some of that good stuff that I know I will consume!

I hope all my wonderful Blog friends have a Very Merry Christmas! I'll leave you with me and the husband at Christmas a few years ago. Not sure why he has that smirk on his face?

Happy Birthday to the Husband..

Today is Daniel's 34th Birthday! He is probably about to kill me for putting that number on my blog. Oh well, I'm sure that one day that'll mean payback for me.

We went out last night to celebrate. He loves pizza, so we went out to a local place we both enjoy.
He is my #1 supporter! I hope he has a great birthday! I love you!

Here we are calling the hogs!

Woooooooo. Pig. Sooie!

Have a great birthday!

Feeling good...

I am feeling really good after my 14 mile run on Saturday. We got the run started around 11:00 on Saturday morning with a temperature around 50 degrees. It was windy in a few spots but by the end of the run, the temps were dropping fast. I figure it was more like 40 when we finished. We were getting cold towards the end.
Dawn and I finished in about 2:45. We are slowing our pace down for several reasons. One is we feel like we need to save our energy for 26 miles. We also want to run with another gal who has a slightly slower pace than we do. Lastly, I'm thinking some of my sickness episodes in weeks past were from pushing myself beyond my limits. Since slowing things down, I've felt great after these long runs.

We did it though...our longest distance yet. After it was over, we both commented that we knew we could go on farther. Yipee....14 miles down, only 12 to go!
I have a hectic schedule this week.
Tonight: Celebrating the husband's birthday
Tomorrow: His birthday plus I'm helping my sister with a Christmas function
Wednesday: Christmas Eve at inlaws
Thursday: All day Christmas at my parents
Friday: Nothing except work

My exercise schedule will be off this week for sure. So many obligations. I'll get it done, but it will be all over the place.

I am working all week. I opted to work. I posted on facebook that I was slightly devastated that I had to work all week when everyone I know is off. Someone reminded me I should be lucky I have a job. SO true! Now I feel like a jerk for even saying such a thing. I am lucky and very thankful for the job I have.

Today is my BIL's birthday, here is a picture....Happy Birthday Kenny! I think this was his son taking his picture! Sort of funny!

Tomorrow is the husbands birthday.......More on that tomorrow!

Carbing up

I am currently enjoying lunch:
Baked Potato, chicken, and 2 % cheese.

Time to carb up. I am embarking on my longest run ever tomorrow
14 Miles!

Tomorrow I am heading to NWAR to watch the Razorbacks play with the husband and also Dawn and I will be doing our run. It will be great to run with her. She and I can usually talk for a while, so hopefully the time will fly by.

Last night I did 6 miles and it was good. It was misting on us, so when I got home I was rather wet. In fact, we had mascara all down our faces. Very funny looking.

I decided I am going to work all next week. I was going to take a few days off, but decided I would just work everyday except Christmas Day. We are short handed in the office and I have tons of work I can do. With us having a skeleton crew plus the holiday, we will probably be very slow. Maybe I can get some work caught up.

I will try and snap a few photos in regards to my 14 miler this weekend. :)

Wish us luck....

Taking it one day at a time!

Wow, I am so busy! In between work, christmas obligations, running, ice/sleet, etc. My schedule is so out of whack.

I am trying to just take it one step at a time.
I am finally going to run tonight. I can't wait. I need to run really bad. Hello, I am training for a marathon.

This weather and all these obligations are throwing my schedule for a loop. It just means I have to up my runs this week. I will do a 5, 5, 14 instead of a 4, 4, 4, 14. My mileage will be slightly smaller, but heck, I am at least attempting to get it all in.

I am going to Fayetteville on Saturday to run with Dawn and then go to the Razorback Basketball game. She and I are attempting the longest run yet...14 miles! Go us! Afterwards the husband and I are going for Catfish! Sounds yummy!

I just need to make it through the week. I can make it.

One of our parties on Friday got cancelled. I hate that, but now I can run, which I need to do!

I know this is short, but I gotta get going. My sister and I are going Christmas shopping at lunch. Honestly, I need to work through my lunch, but oh well!

Busy, Busy, Busy

No time for a post. I am swamped at work. I have about 15 projects due by mid January and I've got to get going on them. Plus a business plan was dropped in my lap so I gotta get that done before year end.

I was going to post a picture of my finished Christmas Card. I did do a few things on the inside and the back of the card, but for the most part this is it:

I gotta jet!

Ice in Arkansas

We had a giant ice storm last night. It wasn't giant, but more than we ever get. I got the day off! SWEET!
It it totally messing with me though. I don't have a treadmill so all my running is done outdoors or inside at the rec center. Well, I couldn't get it in for the last two days. I'm almost going stir crazy. I need to get out and run! I did do some strength training today though and I feel good about that.

Tonight is BL and I can't wait! I am watching it now in fact. Alison is preggo and looks so cute. I love live TV though, it cracks me up. So many little mistakes, like Heba almost busting her tale!

WOW, I am watching and Stacy looks phenomenal, Amy and Shellay..WOW, I love it, they look so beautiful. I just love this show. It is amazing what hard work can do for your body! Even Colleen and her dad. Amy rocked that weigh in!

Phil and Amy look wonderful. Yeehaw on Phil's jeans! That red dress of Amy's was gorgeous. Brady looked okay, he isn't my favorite, but he has still lost tons of weight. Renee looked great also. I think Michelle has this contest in the bag! I sure hope so. We can't let Vicky win!

Oh my, Heba is about to step on the scale. Can she beat Amy?! I hope not, I want Amy to win that $100,000 prize. I will admit, that Heba looks wonderful, but I just like Amy more. Heba doesn't even look like the same girl. Her face even looks different. Dang commercials! I think Amy can win...Come on Amy!

She has to lose more than 134 lbs. She did it...DANG! Only by 4 lbs! She does look good though. But man I really wanted Amy to win!

I loved that dress that Heba was wearing when she and Ed came to the Wecome Home Party. I loved it. I love the color orange. I swear if I was on this show and my friends were eating greasy hamburgers and chips and chocolate cake in front of me, I would kill them. Seriously! So wrong.
Okay, I'm gonna go watch! I'll come back later with more I'm sure! Every time we have a commercial I'll have to post my thoughts.

Vicky's homecoming is on...she just really irritates me. She does look good, but she still makes me sick. I can't forget all the ugly things she has said all season. WOW, she wakes up at 4:00 am. It is sad that she never saw her kids while she did this. She needs to work out a better schedule, how sad. Of course it looks like she doesn't have a choice. She only lost 2 lbs in 7 weeks. I so feel her pain!

So, they saved the best one for last! Michelle!
Does anyone else think that Michelle's dad looks like Mr. Clean? She looked so good during the homecoming. I am really happy she and her mom got a relationship back. They need that. I also like Renee's hair better longer, but that is just my opinion.
Look at her teaching her family how to eat Subway. Some days she works out for 4 hours! 4 hours! I loved that she said she knows she can beat them! Woot, go Michelle!

Here they come! Ed does look good, but I think he can be beat! Does anyone think Ed's shirt looked tight, like too tight?
Vicky, Oh my goodness she looked great in that purple dress and her boobs pushed up! She totally can't walk in heels...Oh my....Too funny! Okay, you work out all day everyday, can't you practice in heels? Come on!
She does look good, but she also needs a new hairdo.....CUT that hair. Was she drunk? Totally acting weird during her interview with Alison!

Come on Michelle...WOOT, sexy in that red dress, I love it! She looks fantastic...And Bob helped her walk across the stage. How sweet! I think she can win! I am so glad she didn't walk away from the show. She looks great! Her face is so thin. She surrendered and the weight fell off? Hmm...maybe she is right! Maybe I should take a few lessons.

Okay, go Michelle!

Sweet a new season starts on January 6. That is awesome!

I love when Ed wants to give up at the beginning of the season and Heba tells him that he can't give up she says something like..."Today is Tomorrow". She is so right, she wouldn't let him give up.
Ed is weighing first. He lost 139 lbs..WOW, that is a person! I don't weigh too much more than that! He lost a normal average size person.

Commercial break...I really want that Cool Pix camera that Ashton Kutcher is showing in that commercial. I may need to look into that camera.

Okay, we are back and Vicky is next!
Vicky has to lose more than 102 lbs. Can she do it? She didn't! She lost 101 lbs! I am really happy for Vicky, but so glad she didn't win it all!

Michelle is next....She has to lose more than 100 lbs...she's got that in the bag! She is finally about to weigh! She lost 110 lbs...GO Michelle, the next Biggest Loser!

Great, Great, Great, Show! Can't wait till January 6!

Will be back to daily blogging tomorrow! We won't be in normal time though, all this ice is going to freeze again, so we'll probably be sliding in tomorrow morning! :(

13 Days till Christmas

13 Days until Christmas and I have my shopping complete. I have one other thing to buy Saturday morning, but that is ordered I just need to run by and pick them up.
I am excited to have it all done, now I need to get to wrapping those suckers.

I have a busy weekend:
  • Tonight: Christmas Work Party
  • Saturday Morning: 8 mile run
  • Saturday Afternoon: Visiting around and delivering Christmas Gifts to friends
  • Saturday Night: Dinner out with the husband and friends
  • Sunday: Short 3 mile run and catch up time

My cards also need to get finished this weekend and I really should start some gift wrapping. Oh and tons of laundry. I have my suitcase still sitting in my floor from Memphis. I know, shame on me. With the OCD husband I know he is dying. He's been a good sport though! I also have my Christmas cards strewn across the dining room table and all the present in our spare bedroom. Seriously, I need to get organized and clean some stuff up. Another thing on my agenda.

I am looking forward to a weekend at home. I haven't had one in a while. It will be nice to enjoy it at home even though I have tons to accomplish this weekend.

For Christmas this year my parents have bought me and all my siblings a cow. Basically they raised a cow for almost a year, then they had him cut up. Sad I know! Oh well, you can't think about things like that. Anyhow, last night I met my mom to discuss the details on who will get what. It is just me and the husband so I told her we didn't need 100 lbs of meat. I think we probably got about 50 though! I have steaks, roasts, ground meat. We will be set on meat for a good part of the year. My mom saved the tenderloins for Christmas! Yum!

I better get going. I have tons to accomplish today. Next week we deliver all the client Christmas Gifts at work! 250+ people! Fun....

The Arkansas Gals: Mary, Dawn, Lorie, and Jessica

These were my roomies: Roxane, Dawn, Jessica, and Jane

The End!

Registered for the Phoenix Half!

Don't know if I posted, but i am definitely going to Phoenix. I leave on January 17 and return on the 19th. I found a good deal on a flight and I'll be staying with PNP girls, so the trip should be fairly cheap. The bad part was the race cost $96.00. This is the most I have paid for a race, now given I registered about a month out and most races I try and get the early bird special on. Still...that was pricey in my opinion.

I got in 4 miles last night at the local rec center. It was 39 degrees in AR, and I know for some of my Canadian blog friends that isn't hot, but in Arkansas, brr! So, I opted for a run inside vs. outside. I'm not exactly sure my running plans for tonight. I'll either do 8 or 4 again. If I feel up to a longer one, I'm going to sneak it in. I would love to just run a few short ones this weekend.

Tomorrow night is the office Christmas Party! We all know how fun those can be. The party begins at 7. They will have liquor, but I'll probably let the husband partake in a few, seeing as it will probably be a little miserable for him.

Today I am attending a funeral. A man in our office died over the weekend of a heart attack. So sad. He was 41 years old. It really makes you stop and think how short life can be.

I have 39 of my Christmas cards completed....WOOHOO, I am doing good!

Thoughts on the Full Marathon

Today at PNP I started a new journal. We have about 90+ days until this full marathon and I want to document it all in one place. I've been doing a journal, but I have opted to start one that will last the entire 14 weeks vs. month by month.

As I was opening up my journal, I started it by making a list of what I need to do for this training:
I embark on this journey I really want to do the following:
1. Train properly! SLOW DOWN! I feel like it is a race to cross that line. It is a race, but not that kind. I need to stop being so competitive and just relax. I am doing this for me, not for a time.
2. Follow my scheduled menus of eating. I will be consuming 2100-2500 cals depending on the running days. WOWZERS. I don't eat this much ever! This is going to be a huge change for me. 3. Stay hydrated. My goal is 2 gallons a day, but I would love to hit about 200 oz a day. I can do it, but it will take constant reminders on my desk, phone, etc to get it in.
4. Stay well! I am already popping the vitamins, but I need to continue my nightly regimen.
5. Stretch each evening...wow, what difference a good stretch makes.
6. Sleep. I need plenty of sleep. Meaning less time parked in front of the TV and calling it a night early.
7. Not neglect the husband. He is my #1 supporter. I want to feel energized and rested on the weekends when we spend the most of our time together. Working a full time job and training for a marathon won't be easy, but gosh, what if I had kids! WOW !YOU GO DAWN AND CORINNE!
8. Lastly, I want to have fun! This is an unbelievable experience that I never want to forget.

So, here it is.....My plan for the next 14 weeks!

Race weekend wrap up

My race went very well. We arrived in Memphis on Friday afternoon. We spent that time shopping at the expo and just wondering around. That evening we loaded up on carbs and crashed early.

Saturday morning we woke up early because the race started at 8. The weather was good but really COLD. I could of used more clothing. I decided to run with friends on this race. Many of those friends were running a half for the first time. So fun! It was awesome seeing them cross that finish line! We finished in about 3:30 or so. I basically walked the entire race, although I did throw in some running at times. It is crazy how different I feel after this race in comparison to others. My quads are killing me! I am still sore today.
It was so much fun though. We danced at one mile marker with a band. We took photos along the route with Santa's, Elvis, and then funny signs we would see! It was just a great time. A very memorable experience. We also made it a point to hit up every potty we saw. For some reason I was really hydrated and had to pee along the route about 4 times. So strange for me. I never use the restroom during a race.

I didn't take any pictures, someone else did. I will get those posted once I see them. So pictures will be posted probably this afternoon or tomorrow.

I am also considering doing the Phoenix 1/2 in January. Our group at PNP is planning on running it and if I can find a cheap flight I might just join them. I plan on making that decision this week.

Yesterday on our drive home Dawn and I worked on our marathon running schedule. We think we can run together on the longer runs by her coming to central Arkansas and then me heading to north Arkansas. We visit her area often for Razorback games so it should work out great.

March 15 is the big day! I guess I can finally say I am training for a FULL MARATHON!

Off to Memphis

I am heading out around noon for Memphis.

I am excited about the run. I am running with several of my Phit and Phat friends. We've been training and talking about this run since July. Wow, that was several months ago. This will be my 4th half. I am running with others this time. No time, no goal, no pushing myself beyond my limits, nothing! I'm going to run for fun and enjoy every darn second of it.

I sure hope I have everything I need. Nothing like leaving town and forgetting the most important stuff. On our way in this morning I realized I forgot my drivers license, so we had to turn around and go back home. UGH! We were about 15 minutes into the trip also! Oh well, the husband was a good sport and we turned around. That was important for picking up my packet and for our "after party".

Our plans are to visit the expo today, eat a good carb dinner tonight, run in the morning and party on Saturday night. I'll be back home around 1-2 on Sunday. Still time to relax before Monday hits again.

Good luck to anyone else racing this weekend....bundle up!

My thumb is killing me....

Last night I got started on my Christmas Cards. Notice I said "started". Every year I pick one out and each year it gets more and more detailed! Why do I do this to myself? I swear by the time we cut the paper, stamp a background, then emboss the red bird I am doing, then glue it all on the card, it takes FOREVER. I am using 3 types of card stock one for the card, and two for backgrounds, so as you can see it isn't fun cutting perfectly to fit the size, stamping the backgrounds, lining it all up. I swear I'm crazy. Oh, well, it is fun and I do enjoy it.

So last night I decided to tackle little sections. My sister Jen came over and helped me get started and literally started is about how far I got. I worked form 6-9 and literally only 1 card is completely finished! I will post pictures of it when I'm done, but not until then. We got all the paper cut and I got the background wall paper stamped on each card. I also got a few other things when it came to the bird, but that is all. I should of taken a picture of my kitchen table. It is a mess! My OCD husband is of course LOVING IT!
The reason the thumb is sore...I stamped all night and I put pressure on the poor little guy.

I also need to give a few props to the husband. He was my photographer for the 5K on Tuesday. He called me out on it yesterday, so I wanted to give a big thanks to the husband for taking all my photos and supporting me like he does. He did stand out in the freezing cold to take my hat, gloves, and pull over after I was burning up at lap 1 and 2 and he also took lots of pictures along the way. You rock! I love having a husband that supports me.

So enough about Christmas Cards, I have my half in a few short days. My eating is just plain sucking right now. I am just eating whatever my little heart desires! I must start drinking my water today. I need to be getting back on that 2 gallons a day thing. Although I do find that somewhat excessive. Heck right now I need to get in 64 oz.

Tonight I have a haircut and highlight....I am making some Christmas ornaments, I should probably do a few Christmas Cards, I also need to pack my bags, etc. I've tons to do in a short amount of time. The marathon hair appointment of 2 hours will leave me with little time to do the rest!

5K Run

The run went well I thought. We finished right at 30 minutes. When we got to the location, we were sort of disappointed. They didn't have many lights set up at all. I guess I had a little higher expectations for the dashing through the lights 5K. They were also in need of a few more volunteers. They didn't have the finish line put together well and Julie and I had to dash into another line at the last minute to finish. So, I didn't get a good finishing pose. Oh well, we wanted to finish under 30:00 and I think we would of had the finishing line been a little more organized. I've never run a race that gave you Popsicle sticks each time you made a loop. We had to run 4 loops around a road and each time you hit the loop you got a Popsicle stick. In the end you should of had 4. When were approaching the end it was just crazy and we were not told the ending stop so our time will probably be more like 31 minutes! Again, they just didn't have enough people telling you what you needed to do.

Here is a picture of Julie and I before the run:

It was cold last night so you'll see I am bundled up with several layers and a sweat shirt that I wore for the first loop. Oh and gloves and a hat. I shed it all in the end, but man I had to get going. We also didn't do 4:1. We ran the entire 5K without stopping. I haven't done that in a while. I was proud of my time.
I am also wearing my running tights. I love those things! I'm planning on wearing those this weekend for my half marathon!

Dashing through the Lights!

Tonight I am participating in a local 5K in my town. We are running through the Christmas Lights! I am excited. I just hope the weather isn't freezing. I'll be layering up I guess. I'll take some pictures if I can and post those tomorrow.

Last night I did 4 miles. I was going to do 3 and 4 just happend. I shouldn't complain. I have a really busy schedule this week so I'm lucky I got that in. I plan on running tonight and I would like to run one other night, but I have things on Wednesday and Thursday this week.
We shall see.

Food was back on plan yesterday. I found this recipe for Tortilla Soup in the newspaper (Just call me Granny). So, I made it last night, YUM...Hit the spot. I've asked my friends over at PNP to see what they think about it. I think it is healthy . Of course it is cans of stuff, so I know the sodium is somewhat high. I'll keep you posted on the recipe. It is super yummy!
I'll be enjoying that for lunch today.

I am really trying to get some Christmas shopping done in my spare time. I am knocking things off my list. Tomorrow night I am aiming to do all my Christmas Cards. My sister is coming over to help me, so hopefully I can get all 80 of them done. Yes, we send out 80 Christmas Cards!

December is here......eek

December 1 is here! Enough said, I gotta get my Christmas cards going and my Christmas presents bought!

This is half marathon week. Saturday I am running the Memphis St. Jude Half Marathon. I am ready. I am looking forward to a girls weekend. I am going with some of my friends over at PNP. We are running it together.

This week I will still taper for the race. Here is my running schedule:
Monday: 3 miles
Tuesday: 3 miles (doing a 5k in my town, we are running through Christmas lights) FUN!
Wednesday: off
Thursday: 3 miles
Friday: off
Saturday: 13.1 miles
Sunday: off

Is anyone watching the show Ruby? I ran across it several weeks ago. She is a lady from Savannah, Georgia that is overweight. She is trying to lose weight with diet and exercise. Very interesting show. I think it is on the Style Network. Check it out if you like reality shows.

I have tons of work on my desk....I was off several days last week with the holiday, so I need to get busy!

Thanks for all the help on the pictures.....It is between 1 and 2.

Needs some help....

I am torn between which photos I want to select for our Christmas Card this year. Help me! We normally do one in Razorback stuff. Sort of our tradition. What do you think? I am only giving you three options because I need to narrow this down.

Photo #3: Not sure, I think it looks hazy!

Productive Saturday!

I have both of my trees up! WOOT! They look good. I feel like I just threw them up though. I do a Razorback Tree and then also a traditional tree. I love the color orange, so every year my big tree favors that color. I love it!
Here is the hog tree:

Speaking of hogs...we played great and beat LSU......
It rained though! Here are a few pictures from the game yesterday! It was also COLD. I have so many layers on it isn't funny.

Here I am in my rain suit. We bought those 4 years ago and they finally came in handy!

And of course, after the victory! Here we are!

Thanksgiving was great....I got up that morning and ran with the running group. We did 4 miles. I wore my new running pants I posted. They worked great. It was about 40 degrees and I was fine. In fact, I was so hot when I finished. I did wear a hat and a long sleeve pull over top, but still, I was hot when finished. It was a great run! We went to the inlaws and had a nice time.
